Putting links in images/icons
I am almost finished with my website and I’m currently figuring out how to fix minor glitches and problems. For my contact page/section, I have placed my contact details such as my email address and mobile number. I’ve also added 2 buttons: my digital cv and a message/contact form. Lastly, I have included my social media links at the bottom.
As I started finishing up my contact section, I noticed small blue dashes to the side of the social media icons. I wasn’t really sure how they came up nor what it was. However, when I hovered over it, they were actually my social media links. I opened up Chrome’s developer tools to try and figure out why they were placed in such a way (and why they even showed up like that in the first place), but I couldn’t really figure out how to fix it.
I tried to alter the values of the <a> + <img> properties within my social media icons <div>. But so far, I can’t really think of anything else in terms of removing the dashes. I’ll keep looking at stackoverflow if anyone has stumbled upon the same problem.
Apart from this, I’m happy with my other sections. I will most likely create my contact/message form on a separate page so that I can also execute my understanding of navigating from one page to another within my website, rather than focusing solely on navigating sections within the same page.
Any help and feedback would be appreciated.
Hi Stef. It’s great to see how well you are getting on and how close you are to being finished. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished website. Again, I think your page is really clean cut, making it easy to navigate and you provide the useful information which is necessary for your portfolio.

Hi Stefanee, your website is looking really good! Very minimalist but effective. The only feedback I can think of is that you could maybe give some form of structure to the content – right now it appears to be a little bit floaty. Maybe just align the social media link thickness & title or something to give the site a frame. Goodluck!
